Linking Girls to the Land
Linking Girls to the Land is a partnership between Girl Scouts of the USA and federal natural resources conservation agencies. This initiative encourages girls to become involvedin conservation and natural resource issues on a national and local level through: environmental education, volunteer service, outdoor skills development and career awareness. Your troop or group can work on two patches associated with this initiative.
Get with the Land Patch- By earning this patch girls will learn about the Linking Girls to the Land partnership, work side by side with a federal or state natural resource agency professional and choose and environmental project or activity in which to participate or complete. Order and earn the patch at www.epa.gov/linkinggirls.
EPA Water Drop Patch- This project offers learning opportunities to Girl Scouts in watersheds, non point source pollution, wetlands, and groundwater/drinking water. Download the booklet at www.epa.gov/adopt/patch/ or order a free booklet by calling the National Service Center for Environmental Publication at 1-800-490-9198.
